What we mean by 'cookie'
We use the word "cookie" loosely to cover all client-side storage the site relies on: HTTP cookies, browser localStorage, and the dataLayer pushed to Google Tag Manager.
Strictly necessary — always on
These run regardless of your consent choice because the site cannot function without them.
- localStorage ds_theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Does not leave your browser.
- localStorage ds_consent — remembers your decision on this banner so we do not ask again. Does not leave your browser.
Analytics — only with consent
The cookies below are blocked by Google Consent Mode v2 until you click "Accept all" on the banner. Until then, no analytics data leaves your browser.
- Google Tag Manager (GTM-M9KDSLP5) — container that loads the analytics tags below. The container itself sets no cookies until tags fire.
- Google Analytics 4 (when configured) — sets first- party cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) used to count unique visitors and measure session duration. Retention defaults to 14 months.
What we do NOT use
- No advertising or retargeting pixels.
- No social-media share trackers (Facebook Pixel, X / Twitter, LinkedIn Insight, etc.).
- No session-replay or heatmap tools (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.).
- No third-party cookies that follow you across other sites.
How to refuse or change your mind
- Click Essential only on the banner, or click Accept all if you change your mind.
- To revoke an earlier "Accept" decision: clear
ds_consentfrom your browser's localStorage and reload the page. The banner will reappear with the choice still in your hands. - You can also use your browser's settings to block all cookies for this site. The site will still load and function; analytics will simply never run.
